Anahid Toghlajian

Anahid Toghlajian, born on March 29, 1945 in Beirut, Lebanon, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023 at the QEII Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS, with family at her side.

She was the daughter of the late, Artin and Marie Karaoghlanian.

She was the beloved wife of Krikor Toghlajian, and the loving mother of Serge (Cheryl Tobin) and Sevak (Andrea Beaver). She was the cherished grandmother of Jacob and Lydia. Anahid was also the beloved sister of Boghos, Koko, and Varouj, and an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Serpoug.

Anahid was a gentle, loving, and kind person who was devoted to her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren. Anahid was also an avid gardener who loved being outside in her garden during the Spring and Summer.

Her kind personality shone through, and she was always someone you could count on. She also made sure that when you visited her home, you would be fed for days, and that you were supplied with even more food to take home for the rest of the week.

The family would like to send a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at the QEII Halifax Infirmary and Victoria General Hospitals for their wonderful care over the last two months. Anahid made them laugh, and they provided her with the love she needed.

Anahid will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. We love you, Ano!!!

A private family gathering to celebrate her life will be held in Halifax, as well as in her hometown of Beirut, Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
