Anne Marie Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Marie Smith, born December 24, 1947 in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada. She passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023 in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Anne was the beloved daughter of the late Geraldine [Northup] and Ernest Hughes. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald Smith, and the loving mother of Laura-Lee and grandmother of Cassidy and Ginny. She was also a cherished sister of five. Anne is survived by her daughter and granddaughters as well as her sisters; Maxine (Blaine) Coldwell, Grand-Pre, Joanie (Jamie) Garland, Falmouth, Donna (Brian) Tracey, Kentville, and Crystal (David) Skaling, Kentville. 

Anne was a waitress in high end establishments throughout Dartmouth and Sackville, where she resided, for over forty years. She was a passionate traveler, and spent many happy times at a farm in Auburn as a child. She was known for her funny personality and her love of a good time. She had a kind and generous heart, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

A service will be held on June 17th, 2023 at 11:am at the Super 8 hotel, 63 Cole Dr., Windsor, NS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Anne's name to the SPCA or an animal charity of your choice.

Anne will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and beloved pets Lucky and Scampy.
