Betty Bezanson Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Betty Bezanson at Harbourview Haven, Lunenburg, NS, formerly of Middle River, NS; on Oct. 13, 2023.
Betty is survived by daughter, Eloise (Gary) Yeadon, sons Daryl ( Susie), Greg ( Wendy), Garnet ( Joanne) and Carmen, grandchildren Allen , Kevin and Garnet Marc and great grandchildren Joshua, Carter and Matthew. And brother, Tom. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Owen, and younger brother Bob.
Born 15 June, 1933, in Upper Clyde, Shelburne Co, she was a daughter of Russel and Florence Davis of Shelburne, NS. She met Owen at a church rally in Lockport, NS and they married  in Oct 1955. Owen said it was "Love at first sight!". And her devotion to him never wavered in 66 years of marriage.
They lived on the family farm and raised 5 children. Times were often tough  but they persevered. As a young woman she worked at her father's large bakery ( Tastie Baker's) in Shelburne where she developed her great love of cooking. She was a homemaker and very involved with their church in Western Shore, the church's 'Women's Missionary Group',  taught Sunday School faithfully for many years, always ready to help prepare food and serve for special occasions. She was also a member of TOPS where she forged many lasting friendships.
Her husband Owen was a busy self employed  landscaper but they were later able to find time to  enjoy their 'camp' in Chester Grant, NS. They spent a lot of time together,  travelling to many locations throughout the Atlantic Provinces and New England States.
She cared deeply for all her children and cherished  her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Speaking proudly of them often Praying for each one. She loved her Lord. And looked forward to one day being reunited with Owen.

She had a number of interests including needlepoint, reading, singing with Owen at their church, and trying out lovely new recipes. She had a tender heart and visitation was important to her. She provided many meals and baked goods to a large number of folk throughout the years. She adored the family cats who usually lived long lives at her home.
She and Owen shared 66 amazing years together. Renewing their Wedding vows on their 50 th Anniversary at New Hope Community Church in Western Shore amongst friends and family.
