Corinne K. Rose, age 86, died at Digby Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. She was born June 19, 1934 to Helen and Francis Hoffman in Williamsport, PA.
Corinne worked as a telephone operator for New York Telephone. She also made batteries for the Vietnam War at Sonotone/Marathon Battery in Cold Spring, NY, where she would meet Albert. On December 18, 1964, she married Albert T. Rose in Milton, NY.
She was an honorary life member of the Philipstown Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Cold Spring, NY having held all levels of office including President and Captain. She was a driver and EMT making as many as 5 runs a day and all hours of the night, including transports between Butterfield Hospital and New York City. She was also a member of the Cold Spring Boat Club Ladies Auxiliary. In 1990 Corinne and Albert ‘retired’ to Brier Island, Westport, Nova Scotia. Corinne continued to be active in the community and was a member of the Westport Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. For many years, she was a caregiver for young children of working parents. Corinne was a mainstay provider of baked goods. She baked for Halloween every year – but trick or treaters would often ask for her homemade grilled cheese on homemade bread instead!
