David Lake Obituary

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of our dad, grandfather and brother.

David owned and operated the Petro-Can in Falmouth where he was head mechanic. He later owned and operated a music store in Windsor.

Here are a few things dad enjoyed; fishing – he got an unforgettable trip to newfoundland with friends and family. Local bass fishing with his son, son-in-law and daughter down the shore.

He loved washer toss and playing cards, 45’s, especially with friends and family I'm going to miss this so much, lots of laughs he enjoyed the strategy and challenge (cheating? well maybe but there's no proof right dad?).

He loved watching and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and he was found often voicing his own commentary and advice to the players via the TV. He got to take in a live game in Toronto with friends and family which he enjoyed immensely.

David enjoyed camping, washer toss and a good drink of rum. He took a trip of a lifetime with his wife and friends and relatives to Nashville and Dollywood he reminisced of this a lot great memories were had by all!

The thing he likes the best is playing guitar and singing. There were many, many sing songs at the house, cottage, jam sessions, campground and various fundraisers and even played in a band at various senior citizen homes. He loved classic country.

Dave loved pranks and joking and carrying on with whoever he could.

He lived a great life until COPD and heart and stroke problems arose. He stayed in his own home up until almost the very end. This was thanks to the VON, Northwood, CCA’s, Brenda Allen and others, too many to mention.

Two doctor Amanda McDonald Green and Care Coordinator Cindy Morse. No words can ever describe the appreciation to all of you for trying to meet dads wishes of staying in his own home for as long as possible.

David/dad is survived by his daughter Karlene (Dan) Gillott, son Jeff (Tina) Lake. Grandchildren Amanda, Autumn and Tucker. Brother Glenn (Glenda) Lake, and his sister Lisa (Steve) Leary.

Besides his parents Doris and Prescott, he was predeceased by his wife Phyllis and daughter who died in infancy, Michelle.

There is no funeral service as per David’s wishes and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Dad we all loved you more than you knew. You will be sadly missed but you were the best dad to us and right now heaven is having one big sing song with you as the newest star.
