On March 15, 2021 Debbie McDowell (née Conrad), of Enfield, NS (by way of Grand Lake, NS), passed away peacefully in Halifax, at age 62. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Conrad and Eileen Osborne. In her early career, Debbie worked as a cook at both Irving Big Stop and IMP. She finished her career at Costco Bayers Lake. She took great pride in her work and was always inclusive and generous with her co-workers. She was outgoing, fun, had an infectious laugh, and always had a sparkle in her eye; we would never know what would happen next. She had a great sense of humor. Survived by her husband of 38 years Peter McDowell, daughter Lindsey, son Larry (Chantal), grand-kids Tristan and Zack, her sister Darlene Martin, nieces Cynthia and Candace, nephew Jaxon and great-nephews Ryan and Jayden that she loved as her own. As well as many family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date this summer (TBD). The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and all staff at the 8th Floor VG and the medical day unit. To everyone who knew her, always choose a sturdy table to eat, you never know when you might get the urge to dance. In lieu of flowers, donations to the QEII foundation would be appreciated.
