Hunter, Donald “Donnie” Maurice “Juke, Duck or Junior” – 68 of Falmouth passed away peacefully on July 28, 2021 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease at the Windsor Elms Village, Osprey 4, surrounded by the love of his family and staff.
Born September 12, 1952 in Windsor, he was the son of the late Donald Hunter, Jean (Patterson) Hunter and stepfather Chesley Hancock.
He is survived by his dedicated life and love partner Debby Drysdale and her family; his daughters Jeannette (Ryan Reynolds) and Krista (Leo Keddy) and his grand children Lincoln and Nova; sisters Joan Rehberg (Ron Leopold) and Pat Hunter as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and his aunt Dorothy.
Besides his parents Donnie was predeceased by his sister June in infancy, sister Nancy and her husband Gary Macumber, grandparents Clarence and Edith Patterson and several aunts and uncles.
Donnie’s favorite place was “The Camp” on Falls Lake where he spent time doing what he loved- boating, fishing and hiking. He also was an avid bowler and was always up to a challenge in horseshoes, darts, pool, cards and much more.
He loved to hunt and fish the Mines Rd, especially Dean Chapter. He was a proud employee of Minas Basin and long-time member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 56.
He is now free.
Donnie has been cremated and interment will be held at St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Falmouth, at a later date. Donations in Donnie’s memory can be made to Windsor Elms Village Recreation Dept. Online condolences may be made at: www.eastcoastmemorial.ca
