Donna May Dickson

Donna May Dickson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 19th, 2023 at the Halifax Infirmary. 

Born on January 15th 1959 in Kitchener, Ontario with her three brothers and one sister. 

Donna loved hard and was a rock to many.  She was a caregiver at heart, someone you could always count on, and her door was always open. Many of her children’s friends and family were treated as her own and you could always be sure she’d tell you how it is. 
Donna loved running the roads, going for country drives and getting a coffee. She loved taking all her granddaughters out with Barbie on day trips and you could be sure they’d be stopping for Chinese food for lunch.

She also enjoyed family gatherings, suppers, and playing cards. 
Donna always looked forward to her special trips to Ontario.

She was an animal lover, especially her dogs and parrot. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her rolls. She loved to talk on the phone to her closest family and friends daily. She liked to thrift shop and if ever you mentioned you were looking for something she would be on the hunt and show up at your house with multiples of it. 
She was quick on her feet and had a sharp wit. She certainly kept Nelson in line. 

Donna is survived by her husband Howard “Nelson”, her two children, Ken (Jen) and Barbie. 
Her five granddaughters that were her pride and joys and that she called her five aces, Kelsey, Cassie, Emiley, Sarah and Beth. Her siblings; Dan Wiles (Sharon), Tim Wiles (Sherry), Teresa Walsh (Ray), Jeff Wiles (Carolyn) many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Donna was predeceased by her parents Barbara and Harry Wiles. 

Mom never wanted a fuss made over her or wanted a service. The family would like to extend an invite to her closest family and friends that she has touched during her time with us at the Maitland Fire Hall 8802 HWY 215, Maitland, NS, on Sunday  March 26th from 1-4 to stop in to celebrate her life with us.
