Caldwell, Evelyn “Carol” age 83 of Windsor passed away at Hants Community Hospital on Saturday, August 5, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Carol was born August 13, 1939 to the late William Alfred and Doris Harriett (Spicer)Shay. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Carol was a homemaker who loved her family dearly and took care of them with great pride. She loved to bake and make homemade bread along with keeping her home spotless. She enjoyed family gatherings and countless weekly shopping trips with Benny.
Carol is survived by her sons Terry, (Janice) and Wade, and daughter Lisa. Her granddaughters Christina (David Meister) Caldwell, Elizabeth (Adam) Sanford, Tamara (Dave) and Cailin (Shawn), grandson Markus (Alisha) and great-grandchildren Amanda Caldwell, Jemma and Jess Sanford, Faith Able, Ellie, Isiah and Jake. Also, her sister-in-law Jennie (Dean) Baxter and long with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, George “Benny” Caldwell, Son Mark Caldwell and grandson Jacob Terry Caldwell. As well as her sisters, Marguerite Young, Connie Stephens, Claire Rick, Nancy Mosher and Patsy Siler. Brothers Alfred “Chum”, Douglas and William “Billy” Shay
The family will have a private burial in Maplewood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service in memory of Benny & Carol will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Three Mile Plains Hall at 12pm.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Kazmirski, Valley Regional Hospital and Hants Community, Dr. Willows and cancer team, Amber Philips as well as V.O.N. Northwood Homecare and Lisa for her excellent care of mom the last couple months and Wendy for the nights spent with Carol.
