Gary Michael O’Grady
Age 68, of Brooklyn, Queens Co., passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, April 7th, 2022, with his wife by his side.
Born in Halifax, N.S., on February 16, 1954, Gary was the son of the late Jean and Tom O’Grady.
Gary worked for the National Archives of Canada for 25 years before retiring in 2000.
In his years of retirement, Gary loved spending time working on and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and would often be found riding the roads on a sunny summer day. If he wasn’t riding his Harley, you could usually find Gary at the golf course. An avid golfer, Gary spent many years perfecting his swing on the many golf courses around the province, and his personal favourite, Coyote Hill.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Jackie (Mullins) O’Grady, his sister Elizabeth, and brother-in-law Gerry Valentine of Brooklyn, his nephew Nick (Alison) Valentine and great nieces Dottie, Nora, and great nephew Rhett of Texas, stepchildren Kristen Clark Harding (David) of Halifax, and Scott Clark (Leigha) and new baby granddaughter Ansley Mira of Porters Lake. Gary was loved dearly by all who knew him and will be sadly missed by many close family and friends, including his beloved Boston’s, Piper, and Kahn.
Gary is predeceased by his parents.
