Genevieve "Gean" Gertrude Gaudet

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Genevieve "Gean" Gertrude (Lainey) Gaudet of Spryfield on January 20th, 2023 (Age 86) at the V.G. hospital in Halifax, N.S. She was born in Winter Houses, NFLD.

Predeceased by husband Lawrence (Larry) Gaudet of Halifax, N.S.

She is survived by her Son Grady (Gail) Gaudet, Daughters Glenda (Stephen) Lawton, Gloria Andrasi, Gina (Bill) Gray and Gail Gaudet. She had 6 Grandchildren -Kyle, Danielle, Joe, Jeff, Thomas and Caroline, 5 Great-Grandchildren -Jaxon, Hudson, Grant, John and Lacey, several Sisters, Brothers, Nieces and Nephews.

Mom was well known for her baking from bread, cakes, pies, cookies, to preserving jam and jellies. She baked cookies by the dozens almost every week just to give away to her family and friends.

She loved to go for walks on the beach to find foolsgold, driftwood and shells for crafts and her garden. She loved to go out to pick berries any chance she got which always ended up in a pie or a jam bottle. She loved to do plastic canvas crafts and made many gifts for family and friends to enjoy.

She enjoyed playing bingo and scratch tickets. Her favourite thing was playing a bingo card game at night between 7:30 and 9:30. Heaven forbid you disturbed her during this time because she didn’t like it at all. During this time she would be busy winning nickels from her family and good friend Lee and that was all that mattered during this time.

Special thanks goes out to our Aunt Velma during these past few months. Your help was a true blessing. You were our rock and we are truly blessed to have you in our lives.

At Mom’s request there will be no funeral service,

Cremation has taken place.

We are having a Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 29th, 2023 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at 63 Whitehead Rd, Harrietsfield
