Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Harvey Doane, born June 9, 1942 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, who passed away peacefully on August 10, 2023 in Middle Sackville, NS.
George was a beloved husband to Heather Doane, father to Greg (wife Tina), Susan (husband Rod Thurston) and Sherry Day, step father to Craig (wife Karen Bowes) and Christa (husband Mike). He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, as well as two step grandsons, one step grand daughter and one step great grandson.
George was a hardworking man who started fishing at the age of 15 and worked for the Halifax Water Commission until he was 70. He was an avid car racing enthusiast and was a proud member of the Butcher Racing Team.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service under the request of George.
We would like to thank the Butcher Racing Team for giving George such a wonderful time with them.
George will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
