Harold "Jack" Reid Obituary

1943-2021 Harold Jack Reid

With family by his side, Harold Jack Reid passed away on December 17, 2021, in Hants Community Hospital at the age of 78. He passed away peacefully with his beloved Wife Daphna and his four daughters by his side, Andrea, Heather, Brenda, Kelly. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Jean Reid (Snow), his brothers Gary and Joe Reid, his sister Marilyn Beattie and brother in-law Reid Stewart,  Survived by brother Darrell (Lynn) Reid, Greg (Kate) Reid, his sisters Kathy Stewart and Shelley Reid; brother in-law Jim Beattie; niece and nephews; sons in-law Gordon Ryan and Stephen Koch.

He was born in Truro, NS where he met and married the love of his life Daphna. They moved to Bedford, NS in 1964 to start their lives together where they had 4 beautiful daughters. He was outnumbered but he would not have had it any other way. He loved us all very deeply!

He had a long and very accomplished career of 42+ years of service with NS Tractors (Atlantic CAT), although Jack would say his greatest accomplishment was his family.

He was a loving husband, an amazing Father and a doting Grandfather to Ben, Kelsi, Ryan, Megan, Emily, Jake, Abby, Brandon, Nik and Brooklynn and a Great Grandfather to Madison and Benjamin.

Loved and will also be missed by Carol (Jack) Babineau; Harold (Jennifer) McGlashing; Lynn (Paul) Faulkner; Rod (Anne) McGlashing and beloved lifelong friend Barb Bennicke.

In Jack’s spare time you could always find him enjoying his favorite past time, his love of golf! (Member of the Truro Golf Course)

Always a gentleman and will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him!

As Jack would say: “Good Bye my Friends”

A private celebration of life will be held at later date. We would like to thank the Palliative care unit at the Hants Community Hospital for their loving care.
