Irene Hill Obituary

Hill, Irene Evelyn – age 72 of Canning passed away peacefully at Kennedy’s Boarding Home for Seniors in Kingston on Tuesday, May 23.

Born in Kentville, Irene was a daughter of the late Norman and Olive (Chivers) Keddy. She is survived by and will be missed by her sons - Nick, Quentin (Shannon), TJ (Kathryn), Chauncey (Samantha) and her only daughter Fawn; as well as by her 5 grandchildren; Hailey, Abigail, Mason, Layla and Lincoln. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Alexander, and brother Rod, and sister Marina. Irene will also be missed by her sisters, Pam (Livio) Rizzi and Chris (Clarence) Sanford, both of Windsor; brothers, Clive (Ruth) Keddy, Allan (Donna) Keddy and Roger (Anne) Keddy.

Those who knew Irene best knew she loved nothing more than putting other first. A servant’s heart, she was always wanting to help, often to the point where she would happily go without to ensure someone had a need met. Irene loved Christmas time, and got caught up in the giving spirit as this is what brought the most joy to her – bringing joy to others.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations in Irene’s memory may be made to Christmas Daddies.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
