Jack Leslie Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden return to his maker of Jack Leslie on the morning of Friday April the 15th, 2022.

Jack passed away peacefully in the care of the fantastic staff of Valley Regional hospital.

Originally born April 6th, 1954 in Scarborough Ontario to parents Ruth and William; Jack was a hard working and caring son and a fierce protector of his two sisters Cindy (Chuck) Calvert and Kimberly (Dave) Sharp, nephew Michael (Amanda) and niece Brittany.

It was during these years of years that Jack started his lifelong passion for all things automotive and could be found showing off his new project cars to impress friends of his sisters or as a means to size up his sisters’ potential suitors. Jack started his own family in Ontario and was the proud father to three wonderful boys; Jason, Darren, and Ryan.

Jack supported his new family doing what he knew best and was a fixture of the 401 highway where he drove heavy transport for most of his life. Always a man of pleasure, Jack’s love of the roar of an engine extended not only to the land but also to sea. Jack settled down in Picton Ontario in the company of his friend and partner Cindy Keddie for many years. If he wasn’t in the garage it was usually the lake or a golf course that one could find Jack when he had some free time between his long-haul drives. Once retired, Jack decided the move closer to his sister on the East Coast. Like most places Jack went, he instantly connected with people over shared hobbies and was quickly hosting friends and family in the only place Jack would ever want to be indoors, the garage. While sadly Jack was not able to realize all his plans for his new home he was able to spend quality times with his good friend Cheryl.

Jack will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be announced at a later time. As Jack was a lover of all creatures, especially the fury kind like his cat Louise; the family asks that donations be made to help improve the lives of animals close to you through a gift to your local SPCA.

The family would also like to extend sincere and heartfelt praise to the staff of Valley Regional surgical, operating room, and critical care teams that took world class care of our loved one.

While Jack may not be a fixture of his garage in Hansport, we have no doubt that Jack is still working hard in the garage of his dreams, seeing the project cars of friends that have gone before him, and getting ready to proudly display his latest treasures with those who will come after. Rest easy Jack and ride strong
