James Lewis Levy

James passed away peacefully at home in Lower Sackville at the age of 80, after a long illness. James was born in Lower Vaughan, Nova Scotia to Mable and William Levy. He was the youngest of four children, the rest being girls who spoiled their little brother. His three sisters were Helen, Eileen and Louise all who predeceased him. He is survived by his son Bill Levy in Regina married to Denise, his daughter Marie Crowley married to Jay and living in BC. He also has two step daughters Tracey Treidler of Edmonton married to Bob and Treena Andrea of Lower Sackville married to Lorne, and a step son William of Halifax. Jim has ten grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He is survived by his wife Rosalys and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was a 27 year veteran of the Canadian Air Force, where he became a photographer by trade. He loved his time in the Air Force. Jim then worked as a supervisor of porters at the QEII until a position of medical photographer became available in the hospital and he was able to again practice his trade of photography which he loved until he retired.

Jim enjoyed working at Faith Baptist church as a trustee, sound technician and publishing a monthly newsletter Faith Walk full of pictures and articles about the church’s activities. He was unable to continue this when dementia took his mind and memory.

A celebration of life will be held on May 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Lower Sackville. The family requests no flowers but in memory of Jim you may donate to Faith Baptist Lower Sackville or your own favourite charity.
