Mr. James Harold Smith,
It’s with deep sadness we announce the passing of James (Jim)Smith, at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor on March 26, 2021, age 86. Jim will be forever missed by loving wife Dale of 21 years.
Jim was born in Pownal PEI to Hazel (Maceachern) and Harold Smith Pownal PEI.
The last twenty years Jim was semi-retired while working to benefit his nephew Hal Smith who owned Island Lightning Rods and Maritime Lightning Rods which Jim was president of these companies.
Jim is survived by Dale, sons, Donald, Jeff, sister Marilyn(David)Blanchard. Brothers Donald(Marjorie)Smith, David(Shirley)Smith, Ian(Lorna)Smith, sister-in-law Janet of PEI, Jim much loved grandchildren Ashley, Christopher and Angela. Jim left behind many nieces and nephews and his extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, son Paul, brothers Winston and Ronald and his first wife Shirley.
Jim was active member of Ad Astra Masonic Lodge, Fairview.
In his early years he raced hydro plane boats. Jim spent last twenty years boating with wife Dale and their friends while Jim enjoyed entertaining all their guests with his wonderful music either playing harmonica, piano or fiddle while dale cooked.
Many thanks for the wonderful care at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. During this time of COVID-19 with no visiting allowed the, fantastic caring and supporting caregivers were always kind enough to assist Jim with the phone whenever I called.
Cremation has taken place at East Coast Memorial, Windsor. No service and ashes to be spread privately.
