STODDART, James Edward "Ted" - 74, Morden, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Truro but raised in Aylesford he was the son of the late James E. and Mary (Campbell) Stoddart. Professionally Ted was an optician and operated Valley Optical in Middleton for 38 years.
Community contributions included two terms as councilor for the Municipality of Kings County and past member of the Aylesford District Lions Club. He was an avid follower of sport and volunteered his time to support local softball and hockey programs; contributions ranged from manager, fundraiser, coach fan and supporter.
Retiring to Morden where he had many fond memories growing up provided opportunities to spend time at Kirk’s Brook, collecting driftwood, playing cards (Poker & 45’s) and enjoying the place he loved to be with friends and loved ones. When not in Morden Ted could be seen driving his unique dodge charger, he also enjoyed taking road trips as well as camping.
Surviving are his sons Andrew, Truro; Jason (Brenda), Atlanta Georgia; their mother (Ginny), Aylesford. Granddaughter (Jill) and great grandchildren Olivia and Van, Atlanta Georgia. Partner Trudie (Aylesford); her children, Deanna (Jeff), Kara, Jake, Isaac. Grandchildren; Jayde, Parker, Colin, Amanda, Amber and Taylor. Great grandchildren Sydney, Ellie and Abby. Siblings Mary Ann, Toronto; Bentley, Morden. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and Brother Shaun.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
