John Pietersma

John Pietersma  82 of Kentville passed away in Canning NS October 26/2021. Born in Sint Annaparochie, Friesland, The Netherlands he was the son of the late Pieter and Mintze(Vanderploug) Pietersma. He immigrated to Canada in 1948.
He was a dedicated member of the New Hope Wesleyan Church, North Alton.

John worked for a short time with Kentville Electric and Avon Construction before starting in Masonry which lasted well over 45 years. His son Derek worked with him for 17 of those.
After putting away is masonry tools John could be found working on his property which he was proud of and helping his neighbours.

John is survived by two brothers Jouke (Ontario) and Ralph (Port Williams). One son Derek(Nancy) Canning, three daughters, Kim, Port Williams, Heather(Brian) St.Stephen, Linda(Donnie) Centerville, sister-in-law Linda Pietersma. Also several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

John was predeceased by his wife Judy
and son-in-law Michael Graves.

Cremation has taken place and by John’s request there is no funeral or visitation.
