John (Jack/Jackie) Fulton Lynds, beloved husband, father, grandfather (Boppie), brother, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Truro, NS. He was born on December 27, 1953, in Truro, NS, and his passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
John leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carla Lynds, his stepdaughter, Deanna Irvin, his littlest grandson, Aiden, and his grandson, Tyler Lynds. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Crawford, sister-in-law, Deanna Crawford, daughter-in-law, April Moase, and his parents-in-law, Evelyn and John Chambers. John was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Hazard and Harry Lynds, his brother, Dana Lynds, and his beloved son, Michael Lynds.
John dedicated 42 years of his life to Scotsburn, where he worked tirelessly before retiring and taking on the role of a part-time crossing guard in Bible Hill. He was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his responsibilities. His dedication to his work was a testament to his character and integrity.
In his leisure time, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep appreciation for old Western shows, and he could often be found listening to music, cracking open a cold one, and playing guitar with his buddies. His love for chocolate and freshly baked treats, especially his beloved butterscotch pie, was well-known among those who knew him.
John's love for his family was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His love for his dog, "Jackie," was evident, and he now rests peacefully beside his beloved companion and his son, Michael. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A celebration of John's life will be held in February 2024, allowing family and friends to come together to honor and remember the impact he had on their lives. Additionally, a graveside service will be held in the spring in North River, where he will be laid to rest.
John's parting words, "Carry On," serve as a poignant reminder to those he left behind. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who loved him, and his memory will forever be cherished.
