Naugler, Judith (72) of Halifax. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother , GNanny , sister, aunt, cousin and friend. After a courageous battle with COPD, JUDY passed away peacefully on OCT 17, 2022, in the presence of family at the Dartmouth General . Born in Halifax, Judy was the daughter of the late John and Jean Orr (Landry), and the beloved wife of Rick. She will be forever loved and cherished by her sons Richard (Ricky) Daughter- In-Law Kerri-Lynne from Dartmouth, Eric Lumsden & Daughter in Law Brenda from Antigonish and Daughter Patricia (Pattie) & Son in Law Lloyd Currie from Sackville. Judy had a special bond and love for her grand children Jared , Jacob, Emma , Brooke, Paige , Alexis, Amanda and Adam as well as her great grand babies, Ronan, Emmanuel and Wren. Judy is survived by brothers, Bobby (Harriet) New Brunswick and Joey (Michael) from Newfoundland along with many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers, Jackie, Donald (Shelley), Billy ( Shirley) Philip (Jayne), of Halifax and sister Mary (Ovie) Judy is also predeceased by her Mom and Dad and special nephew, David Orr.
Known for her welcoming home , she put a roof over many heads and filled many bellies with warm delicious meals. No one ever left hungry and always took a doggie bag of goodies with them. She didn’t listen to the words “ I’m not hungry” and always made sure everyone was well looked after. She was the matriarch of the family and kept the bonds of family tight with gatherings. She delighted in serving others especially with her egg salad sandwiches. Judy was a conscientious worker and took pride in her work for years at Sobeys Penhorn in Dartmouth. Her customers loved her and she loved them. Her work ethics were impeccable and she taught her kids those same skill sets.
She will be greatly missed and she truly is the “Proverbs 31 Woman" from Proverbs 31:10-31.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be an intimate Celebration of Life gathering in honor of Judy announced at a later date.
