It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Karen (Chisholm) Vyse, age 69, on Wednesday July 27, 2022 after her battle with cancer for over six years. Born May 8, 1953 in New Glasgow, NS, she was a daughter of the late William James and Evelyn (Cunningham) Chisholm. She is survived by her loving husband Mark Vyse and her two children Anita and Jason. Mom was the eldest daughter of six children: sisters, Cathy (Joe) Bates, New Glasgow; Janet (Steve) Cormier, Little Harbour; Paula (Frank) Boudreau, Abercrombie; brothers, Neil (Janice) Chisholm, New Glasgow; Gary (Kathy) Chisholm, Mill Cove; god daughter Jennifer (Bates) Dobson, NewGlasgow; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law Vera (Kilpatrick) Vyse.
Mom was a beautiful, caring woman who touched the hearts of everyone she met. She lit up every room she entered with her smile and laugh and left a lasting impression. A few years after moving to Halifax she met and fell in love with her true love and soul mate Mark. She took great joy spending time with her family and was a shining star on games nights and was an avid reader. You could often find her outside tending to her gorgeous garden. Very much in love, she was happiest when spending time with Dad, whether it be out on the patio swing, sharing hugs and kisses, or dancing with him in the living room.
Mom was a warrior and fought with dignity and grace. A class act to the very end. Heaven gained an angel and she is at peace now. She can rest easy, although it’s guaranteed that she is watching over and protecting all of us as she always did. As per her request, there will be no service. Being so passionate about her family, she would prefer that you take the time to spend with your loved ones and let them know how much you love them. Donations in her memory may be made to the QEII Foundation.
