Margaret Lee Obituary

Lee, Margaret Amy - 61, of Halifax, peacefully passed away (August 1st, 2022) at the VG Hospital in Halifax surrounded by her loving family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Angus Pefhany and Leola (Jones) Pefhany.

Surviving are her husband of almost 40 years, Bernie; her sister Ann (Danny) Upson; nephews and nieces Dawn (Adam) Upson, Patrick (Colleen) Upson, Timothy (Heather) Upson; and Kayla Upson. And last, but most importantly, we would like to thank Zane Ehsan who is our student nurse - who was by Margaret’s side for the last three years - and who Margaret adored. Margaret will be looking down to guide and ensure Zane graduates from Dalhousie University with his Nursing degree.

Margaret was always dedicated to helping others, professionally and in her personal life. In 1981, Margaret graduated for the VG School of Nursing and she worked at the VG Hospital for ten years as a Registered Nurse - a career of which she was always very proud. Margaret was always interested in health care and learning, so she then attended the Dalhousie School of Pharmacy and she graduated with her BScPharm in 1993. Margaret worked in community Pharmacy for ten years and during that time she obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy at Dusquense University in Pittsburgh, PA. Margaret then joined Medavie Bluecross in 2003, where she worked as a Pharmacy Consultant until her official retirement in 2019. Her retirement didn’t last long. When COVID-19 started, Margaret was quick to do what it took to renew her Pharmacy license so she could help with the COVID vaccination role-out - as she was always focused on helping others.

Margaret had many friend in Halifax, NS and in Sarasota, FL where she enjoyed our winter home. Thank you to her many friends who loved and supported her in both countries.

There will be a private Celebration of Life for family with Shane Doucette officiating.

Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or SPCA Nova Scotia.
