Margaret Barbara Smith

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Margaret Barbara Smith, 89, of New Minas. Born in Montreal to the late Rose and Daniel Cosgrove. She was the wife of the late Basil Smith. She passed away peacefully on April 30 surrounded by family. Margaret was loved by everyone who knew her and she truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with family, knitting, baking, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She had a kind heart, an infectious smile and the ability to reach people in a positive way. She is survived by her children; Wayne (Joy) Smith, Glen (Sharon) Smith, Laura (Raymond) Purchase, Heather (Gary) Arsenault and the late Steve (Frances Mendonca) Smith; seven beloved grandchildren; Christopher, Jennifer, Todd, Sean, Lyndsey, Ashley and Brittany; and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to especially thank Laura and Raymond Purchase for the excellent care they provided to her over the years.
