LeBlanc, Marie Elizabeth Anne – 83, of Windsor Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 at the QEII in Halifax.
Born on January 23, 1938 in Port Felix NS, she was daughter of the late Charles and Genesta (Richard) LeBlanc.
Marie worked at MT&T for several years as a switchboard operator and then transitioned to do the same at the Victoria General Hospital. She was then promoted to communications liaison and fulfilled the role for many years and her last 3 years at the VG she worked in the Pharmacy. Marie loved bingo and knitting beautiful items such as sweaters, lovely socks and especially hats for the Canadian Cancer Society. She loved the ocean and never wanted to be too far away from a beach. You could always count on her being on the lookout for a bakeapple patch when passing by a marsh. Berry picking seemed to be ingrained in the genetic code of the whole LeBlanc family, so Marie rarely passed up an opportunity especially if they were spotted anywhere along the side of the road while out driving. She loved her family and was especially close to her brother Moe and her sister Myrna. Marie and Myrna often spent time together on the weekends shopping, dining and visiting friends and other family members. Beloved Grandsons Ian and Ross were the special joy and light of her life, always in her heart, always in her thoughts.
Marie was predeceased by her husband and partner Denis Perigord; brothers, Gerald, Charles ‘Babe’ and Richie LeBlanc; her sister, Margret ‘Myrna’ Kane.
She is survived by her wonderful brother, Maurice ’Moe’ (Elaine) LeBlanc of Chester NS;
children, Richard LeBlanc, Nanette Johnstone, Nicolette (Rick) Hebb of Dartmouth,
Danielle MacIntyre of BC, Nadine (Ron MacIntyre) Laybolt of Windsor NS, Jared (Carol) Perigord of Calgary AB; grandchildren, Christina (Marc) Gasparetto, Melanie (Shawn Brockley) Harvie, Sarah Harvie; Ian and Ross (MacIntyre) great grandchildren, Robert, Rachel and Mason. Also surviving are sisters in law,
Shirley LeBlanc and Kathleen LeBlanc both of Halifax along with many nieces and nephews.
Many special thankyous to the wonderful staff at the QEII, including her very special nurses Katie, Melissa and Kailee and Dr. En Way plus so many more.
Marie is and always will be an exceptional woman, loved, adored and will be missed so very much by many. She was a beautiful free spirit that is indeed now truly free.
Marie has been cremated as per her wishes. A celebration of life to be announced later.
