Robert Mark Strickland, 61, Halifax, passed away suddenly at home on July 29, 2021.
Born in Antigonish to the late Jack Strickland & Marie MacDonald.
Mark was passionate in his life-long career of autobody mechanics. At a young age, he started out in backyard shops which lead him to careers with Brett Pontiac, Carroll Pontiac, and Apple Auto Glass, Overall Collision. He took pride in taking Dave Dodge under his wing many years ago showing him and teaching him the skills of the trade. His true passion was restoration of antique cars. His is survived by his son Trevor Rhyno (Jen), His three adored grandsons – Sage, Nash, and Kyler; his long time companion and friend Mary Rhyno. Sisters: Joan, Debbie (Dave), Brothers: Gordon, Scotty (Diane), John, Steve (Jody), Pete Green, along with several special nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was predeceased by sister Ann Jamieson.
Memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s Church, Herring Cove Road on Friday Aug 6 at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
