Obituary
Maxine Ann (Rose) Baird died March 28th, 2022 in Kentville, Nova Scotia at the age of 82.
Maxine was truly an amazing woman: wife, mother, grandmother, sister and steadfast friend, born February 21, 1940 in Peterborough, Ontario, the daughter of Dorothy (Graham) Rose and Raymond Rose.
Maxine is survived and deeply missed by her husband of 61 years, Charles Robert “Bob” Baird, whom she affectionately called Bobby, just as he called her Mac, along with their 6 children: Robert, John, Andrew, Padraec, Jennifer and Erin and her much adored source of pride, 11 grandchildren: Hunter, Jack, Miles, Cassi-Lynn, Peyton, Ryland, Kaleigh, Liam, Julian, Annabel and Kiara. Maxine is also survived by her dear sisters Jackie and Mary.
Maxine’s true happy place was at home in Wolfville in her ‘one-cook-at-a-time-kitchen” where she loved baking, making bread with the popular favourites being perfect sourdough rye and country white. She was truly in her element preparing and serving spectacular multi-course, gourmet meals for the whole family and as many guest as were present. Outside the kitchen Maxine enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, doing crosswords, solving riddles and word jumbles, cutting and braiding hair. But most of all she enjoyed good conversation and a hearty laugh.
As per Maxine’s wishes, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
