Michael Anthony Hutt

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Hutt, who passed away surrounded by his family on April 28, 2023 in Hantsport, Nova Scotia. Michael was born on May 6, 1960 in Halifax to Joan and Earl Hutt.

Michael was a loving husband to Joanne Harvie for over 40 years, a devoted father to John (Sara), Mary (Justin) Moore and Nick, and a proud grandfather to Ian, Averie, Mazie and Ivy. He was a beloved brother to Myles (Kathy), Corrine and Charlie (Tanya) and many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted dog-father to Jasper, who was always by his side.

Michael was a carpenter by trade, he enjoyed any challenge and he loved to work with his hands. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who found peace on the beach and walking in the woods. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humour, and his ability to fix anything. His greatest accomplishment was his family, his love for them knew no bounds.

Michael was predeceased by his father Earl and his second parents Mary and Gordon Harvie.

The family would like to thank Dr. Donna Davis, for fighting for him, Dr. Cathryn Smith for helping to get him home to us and Amber Phillips and the palliative care team for helping us through everything.

A Celebration of Michael's life will be held at the Falmouth Hall, 147 Falmouth Back Rd., Falmouth, on May 5, 2023 at 2pm, all are welcome.
