Robert Paul Fournier

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Paul Fournier, beloved husband, father, step father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on October 13, 2023 surrounded by his family, in Meteghan, NS.

Robert was born on July 19, 1956 in Saulnierville, NS. He was the loving husband of Wanda Fournier and the devoted step father of Kristina (Douglas) Waito of Saulnierville NS, and Michelle Moulaison of Weymouth NS. He loved his Daughters Gina (Pierre) Cyr of Edmunston NB and Heather Comeau of Meteghan NS. He was also the proud grandfather of Jonathan, Mia, MacKenzie, Ameila, Sabrina, Pierre-Luc, and Miguel.

Robert was predeceased by his mother Cecile and father Joseph, brother Ulysse Fournier, sisters Geraldine Proulx and Ruth Calvange as well as a grandson, Francois Cyr. He is survived by his sister Delima (Roland) Deveau of Saulnierville NS, brothers Fred (Martha) Fournier of Meteghan NS, Gustave (Faye) Fournier of Moncton NB, and Daniel (Wanda) Fournier of Beaverbank NS, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert could be a kind and gentle soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a love for old cars and especially loved his 1965 Ford Galaxy. He was a devoted friend to many but the biggest part of his heart belonged to his Grandchildren.

As per Roberts wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at the Saulnierville Cemetery on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11am. His family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Unit, VON, and Dr. Kristen Melanson, all of whom played invaluable parts in his last months.

In lieu of flowers or donations in Roberts memory, they may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, The Cancer association or any other charity of your choice.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
