It's with a sad heart that I let everyone know that we lost another family member, Robert Maskell, a.k.a. "Papa" or Bob - passed away peacefully at Grandview Manor in Berwick on September 23, 2023 where he has been a resident after a stroke, left him paralyzed on his left side and unable to speak or eat.
Thanks so much to the staff at Grandview Manor for taking such great care of papa. You guys are amazing. Bob loved fishing and he would share his catch with anyone who enjoyed it.
He also loved being at Dunromin Campground, where he could fish and meet new people every day. Many people will always remember him, singing and playing his guitar. Something I will miss always, is everyone knew that if you ask how his car was working, he was in his glory, and would spend the next hour telling you. Robert was a custodian at Central Kings for many years.
Born in Head of Jeddore, he was the son of the late Roland and Marjorie (Dooks) Maskell. He is survived by his daughters Eva Tibert of Cambridge, NS; Linda Maskell of Windsor, ON; Marjorie Sharpe of Windsor, NS; Gloria Sproule of Waterville, NS; Margaret Sproule of Bridgetown, NS; Beverly and James Brewer of Halifax, NS. His sons, Robert Maskell, of Berwick, NS; and Roy (Sanford) Maskell of Halifax, NS.
Also his extended family Gordon and Ethel Leblanc of Cambridge, NS; Linda Marriott of Centreville, NS; Paul and Barb LeBlanc of Cambridge, NS; Terri Leblanc of Lakewood Rd., NS; Eva Tibert of Cambridge, NS, also his only living brother Arthur "Art" Maskell of Berwick, NS.
His grandchildren, Stacey Maskell, Lisa Maskell, Lareina and Masotti Amy Boudreau. Great-great grandchildren; Talia Masotti and Evelina Masotti along with other grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving partner, Kathleen LeBlanc, daughter, Susan Maskell, son-in-law, Bill Tibert, his brothers, Keith, Bill Hurson and Don Maskell. Sisters, Diana White, Pearl Roy, Annie Hiltz and Marguerite O'Neil.
Cremation is under the care of East Coast Memorial. And by request, there will be no funeral or visitation at this time, and his ashes will be scattered at a later date.
Rest in peace, Papa.
