Robert "Nick" Morris Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Nick" Ashley Morris, born April 12, 1948 in Halifax, NS, who passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on October 8, 2023 in Halifax.

Nick was a loving husband to Beverley Boutilier, father to Lisa (Scott Fraser) of Advocate Harbour, NS, and Jillian (Greg) McNeil of Greenwood, NS, and grandfather to Robert (Jordan Tabor), Gabrielle, Denver, Jessica, Spencer and Nicholas. He was also a great grandfather to Ben, Claire and Lilly.

Nick was a beloved brother to Albert (Judy) of London, ON, Verna (Wayne) Jonasson of Lower Sackville, NS, Richard (Dale) of Fredericton, NB, Kenny (Shirley) of Dartmouth, NS, Gregory (Mary Feetham) of Advocate Harbour, NS, and Diane (Tom) McTiernan of Parrsboro, NS. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews who he loved like his own and was still a nephew himself to his much loved Uncle Floyd Morris.

Nick was a proud POS Equipment Salesman for over 50 years. He was an outgoing and social person who loved to be with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed boating on the weekends with his best friend Jack at the boathouse and lobster boils with his brothers at the family homestead in Advocate Harbour.

Nick was predeceased by his mother Mabel Morris and father Ashley Harl Morris of Advocate Harbour, NS, his dear sister Debbie Lyver of Halifax, NS and sister-in-law Heather Morris of Advocate Harbour, NS.

Cremation has already taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later time in Advocate Harbour, NS and another in Seabright, NS.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and support staff at The Victoria General/QEII Palliative Care Units and Cobequid Emergency Hospitals for their compassionate care and unwavering support during our father/husband's time there after which he could no longer be cared for at home.  Your dedication and kindness were a source of comfort during a challenging period, and we deeply appreciate all that you did for him.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
