Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherry Lynn Wood, born October 28, 1958 in Tillsonburg, Ontario. She passed away peacefully at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Nova Scotia on August 4, 2023 with her loving husband, James Wood, by her side.
Sherry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a devoted and caring person who was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Sherry was predeceased by her father, Jim Yorke and her mother Dorothy Tree-McLeod.
She is survived by her husband, James Wood of Welton Landing; step-mother, Linda Yorke of Parrsboro; her daughters, Lisa Wood of Kentville and Leslie Oakes of Scotland; her brothers, Dale Yorke of Halifax and Jamie Yorke of Halifax; her sister, Tammy Yorke of Truro; her step-sisters, Donna Gallagher of Parrsboro and Cheryl Morris of Lakelands; and her four grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Sherry will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit and infectious laugh. She was a strong and resilient woman who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace.
Sherry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
There will be no service held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Nova Scotia.
