Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Gail Dixon, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Shirley was born on July 23, 1947 in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada and passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Shirley was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Evelyn (Wayne), Kevin (Christine), and Doreen. She was a cherished sister to Sharon and Ralph and a doting grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gene, partner Weldon, daughter Lesa, and sister Alberta
Shirley was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her trips to Cuba. She was a fan of Frank’s Kinda Country and could be found listening to it on Sundays. In the summer, Shirley could be found sitting outside with her coffee, enjoying the sunshine.
Shirley was a kind and generous soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Truro, Nova Scotia. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Lower Woods Harbour, Nova Scotia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Greenwood Cemetery.
