Obituary

Soong Hua Lau of Vaughan, NS, passed away on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at the Hants Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Grace Chen.
Soong had an incredible zest for life, but in particular, she had a boundless love for her family. Whether it was her husband, her children, her grandchildren, or the numerous other people who came to know her as Mom, she took care of all of us.

She loved gardening, playing the piano, traveling the world, tasting new foods, continuously learning, and always had a book on the go. Above all, she loved cooking and would create, and prepare the most sumptuous meals for anyone at the house, family and friends alike.

Soong is survived by her husband, Ming Guat Lau; children, Julian (Christina), Christopher (Melody), and Jennifer; sisters, Mien Hua and Chieh Hua (Ted); grandchildren, Katherine, Joshua, Jayden, Maya, Sienna and Kyla; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Soong is predeceased by her brother Sze Hua (Sally).

At the family's request, there will be a private service held in Soong’s honour.
