Troy Millett Obituary

Millett, Troy Gerald age 61 of Gaspereau passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family, loved ones, and cat.
Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Basil and Muriel (Murray) Millett and grew up in the beautiful Gaspereau Valley.
Troy spent his younger years working with his dad as a Heavy Equipment Operator and many years in Toronto. Once he returned to the Valley, he fished the Family Net for many years which we all know nobody could fish it like Troy. Fisherman or Operator, Troy’s favourite job and title was “Dad”. Often found with a toddy in hand, listening to the radio, and looking out his window at the beautiful view of the Gaspereau Valley, Troy’s home became a revolving door for friends and family to stop by, as Troy was a listening ear and helping hand to many. Troy was a lover of animals, especially his two favourite cats, Jersey and Grey who kept him company throughout the years.
Troy is survived by his daughter Gabrielle of Canaan, son Nolan of Canaan, step-daughters Brooke and Keltie of Canaan, and step-son Taylor of Canaan who were his greatest accomplishments and will live everyday in his honour. He will also be missed by his his sisters Ann Millett of New Minas and Susan (John) Kenny of Wolfville, as well as Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends, too numerous to name.
Besides his parents, Troy is also predeceased by his brothers; Vaughn, Tony, and Murray, his sisters; Vicki and Crystal and his niece Jennifer.
There will be a Celebration of Life, Graveside Service and Reception in May in Troy’s honour.
A special thank you to the Nurses, Doctors, and Respiratory Therapists in the ICU who provided Troy with exceptional care and supported Troy and his family during this difficult time.
Donations in Troy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Graveside service in honour of Troy and his brother Murray will be held on May 20, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Gaspereau Cemetery with a reception to follow at 121 Main St. Wolfville immediately the burial, where all are invited.
